Dan Towle serves as Director of Financial Services for the State of Vermont's Department of Economic Development. He works extensively with the captive insurance industry to promote Vermont as a place to do business and develop public policy to keep pace with the changing marketplace. Within state government he advises the Governor, Secretary of the Agency of Commerce and Community Development and the Commissioner of Economic Development on new legislation and policy recommendations to maintain Vermont's leadership as the premier on-shore captive domicile and is the key liaison with the captive insurance industry and the Vermont Banking, Insurance, Securities and Healthcare Administration (BISHCA).

Dan oversees the marketing and promotion efforts to both internal and external constituencies, international, national and trade press. He spent nearly ten years in banking, most recently as a business development officer, with core responsibilities in corporate cash management, corporate banking and overseeing branch banking sales efforts in these areas.

Dan is a former member of the Campaign Cabinet of the United Way of Chittenden County co-chairing the Professional Giving Unit. He previously chaired the Ambassador Committee and served on the Board of Directors for the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce.  He is a graduate of the University of Vermont.

Dan has two young children and lives in Essex Junction.
